A study of the era of the Civil War and Reconstruction focusing on the causes and course of the war, the battles over reconstructing the nation and both the short- and long-term effects on the nation. Special emphasis will be given to the impact of events on ordinary Americans Prerequisite: HIST 103 with a minimum grade of C or HIST 104 with a minimum grade of C or HIST 106 with a minimum grade of C or HIST 108 with a minimum grade of C or consent of department.
