HORT 283 - Floral Design IICredit Hours 4 Lecture: 3 Lab: 2 This course is designed to give students the necessary skills to create a variety of advanced floral pieces. Emphasis will be placed on both sympathy and wedding floral pieces. Students will create a variety of bridal bouquets using armatures, bouquet holders and hand-wiring. Students will receive practical experience creating flowers for two real weddings. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to conduct a bridal consultation and create recipes for the floral pieces, and create a wholesale supply list. Students will create a variety of sympathy arrangements such as casket saddles, end sprays and fireside baskets. Identification of approximately 75 different wedding and sympathy cut flowers and foliages will be discussed.
