HORT 200 - Organic Crop Production

This course introduces students to the complex topic of organic crop production. Students will examine the basics of small scale organic production, including agroforestry, viticulture, high tunnel production, hydroponics and cover crop usage. Student will learn an ecological approach to crop production that includes soil health, water management, nutrient management and pest management. Food forests and permaculture will also be discussed as part of production systems. Prerequisite: - Corequisite: -
