HUS 106 - Introduction to Addictions

This practical overview of substance abuse explores cultural and current attitudes toward alcohol and other substance use. This course will use an integrated approach, introducing innovative methods for meeting clients’ needs through personalized assessment, treatment planning, and behavior change strategies and showing students how to select the most effective treatment modalities for each client while gaining the ability to create genuine and empathetic relationships with others. Prerequisite: HUS 101 with a minimum grade of C
