This course is an introduction to the history of philosophy, beginning with the pre-Socratics and concluding with 20th century philosophers. Special emphasis is given to the causal relationships among major philosophers and their systematic philosophies. Prerequisite: Placement into ENG 101 or minimum grade of “C” in ENG 021 and ENG 099; or ENG 022 and ENG 099; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089; or ENG 096.
