SOC 101 - Introduction to Sociology

Introduction to the basic principles, concepts and methods fundamental to the discipline of sociology. Emphasis on the structure and dynamics of human society with special attention to group behavior, socialization, social institutions, social problems, stratification, family, population, and crime. Prerequisite(s): Placement testing into ENG 101  or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021  and ENG 099  ; ENG 022  and ENG 099  ; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079  and ENG 089  ; or ENG 096  .
