CIS 297 - Cyber Ops

The course provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed as an associate-level Security Analyst working with a Security Operations Center team. Students gain understanding and hands-on experience on how to detect and respond to security incidents, understand how organizations deal with cybercrime, cyber espionage, insider threats, advanced persistent threats, regulatory requirements, and related issues.  Gain job-ready practical skills for in-demand job roles in cybersecurity operations, with core security skills needed for monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing and responding to security events, thus protecting systems and organizations from cybersecurity risks, threats and vulnerabilities.  This course prepares students for industry recognized, CCNA Cybersecurity Operations certification. Prerequisite(s): CIS 263  or CNT 101  with CIS 123  or consent of department.
