FSCI 102 - Introduction to Fire Prevention

Lecture - Lab - Credit Hours: 3-0-3
This course provides fundamental knowledge relating to the field of fire prevention. Topics include: history and philosophy of fire prevention; organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau; use and application of codes and standards; plans review; fire inspections; fire and life safety education; and fire investigation.Prerequisite: COMPASS placement into ENG 021  and ENG 099 , or the EAP course sequence ENG 078  and ENG 088 , or ENG 096 ; or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 020  and ENG 098 , or the EAP course sequence ENG 077  and ENG 087 . And COMPASS placement into MATH 098  , or minimum grade of “C” in MATH 094  .
