Emergency medical services (EMS) has undergone a great expansion in the last 10 years. There has been a shift from volunteer agencies to full-time agencies that not only respond and treat emergencies but play an active roll in injury prevention. With this shift the demand for educated EMS personnel has grown significantly.
The EMS program is designed to prepare individuals for a wide spectrum of careers including fire service, hospital emergency department technicians, physicians’ offices, or clinics. For registration information, contact the EMS coordinator at (815) 280-2356.
