Graduates of the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) basic certificate program will have the opportunity to study a range of manufacturing-related disciplines which will prepare the student for continuing employment in manufacturing-based positions. As new manufacturing technologies are incorporated into the workplace, in particular CNC-based technologies, it will be necessary for the worker to possess a better understanding of CNC. Job opportunities exist in the fields of manual machine operation, tool and die making, CNC programming, and CNC operation and set-up. All of the classes required for the CNC certificate also will benefit the student in working toward the existing TE550, Precision Machine Technology; and TE600 Machine Production Technology degrees.
