NURS 140 - Basic Nursing Procedures

This course introduces the procedures basic to safe and effective nursing care.  The procedures focus on the techniques that maintain an aseptic and safe environment for the health care of the client and staff.  Procedures are introduced that are necessary to the client’s basic physiologic needs.  The techniques are those that can be utilized by the nurse or delegated to appropriate assistive personnel. Prerequisite: Admission to the Nursing Program.
Concurrent: Must be taken concurrent with NURS.150, or with written nursing adviser approval.
