NA 122 - Basic Electrocardiography TechnicianCredit Hours: 3 Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 This course is designed for students with an employment or educational background in the healthcare field or students preparing to enter a healthcare degree program. Learning to perform non-invasive electrocardiography procedures and identifying rhythms will be a valuable addition to the skill set of today’s healthcare worker. Lecture topics include techniques for performing a 12-lead EKG, identifying rhythms and rhythm abnormalities, how cardiac drugs affect an EKG and telemetry unit monitoring. Prerequisite(s): High school diploma; Placement into ENG 021 and ENG 099, or ENG 022 and ENG 099 ; or the EAP course sequence ENG 078 and ENG 088 , or ENG 096 ; or minimum grade (C) in one of the following: ENG 020 and ENG 098 , or the EAP course sequence ENG 077 and ENG 087 .
