OPT 101 - PedorthicsCredit Hours: 4 Lecture: 2 Lab: 4 The course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to fabricate foot orthoses (shoe inserts), perform orthopedic shoe modifications and fabricate foot orthoses/prostheses below or at the ankle joint. Foot and ankle skeletal structures and biomechanical principles of foot orthoses and partial foot prostheses are also integrated throughout the course. Impression, measurements, shoe fitting and foot evaluation are also covered. Prerequisite(s): OPT 100 and admission to the program Is course repeatable for credit?
