This course is specifically designed for persons whose first or home language is Spanish or for persons who, through specific circumstances, have developed near native speaking ability in Spanish. The student will become acquainted with Spanish in its written form, will develop overall knowledge of the language, and will develop an awareness and appreciation of Hispanics and their contributions in U S society through current literature on different topics. Prerequisite(s): Departmental proficiency exam required.
