LENF 200 - Law Enforcement Accountability

This course will address the importance of accountability in policing. Accountability means professionalism, respect for all people, compliance with the law, and maintaining the trust and respect of the people they have been sworn to serve and protect. Police accountability refers to a set of policies and practices that have emerged in recent years that are designed to hold officers accountable for their conduct. The main theme of this class is to address these policies and practices and analyze them to determine if it is necessary to re-evaluate and/or change the status quo operations of police agencies with regard to critical police activities and use of force standards. Prerequisite(s): LENF 101
