HUS 216 - Treatments for Addictions

This course is a comprehensive and insightful exploration of various approaches and strategies utilized in the treatment of addictions.  Students will delve into the complex factors contributing to the development and maintenance of addictive behaviors, including biological, psychological, and socio-cultural influences.  Special emphasis will be placed on integrating psychosocial interventions, pharmacological treatments, and emerging practices. Through case studies, role plays, and experiential exercises, students will develop practical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and implementing interventions for individuals and communities struggling with addictions.

  Prerequisites Must have completed HUS 106, HUS 214 & HUS 215 with a “C” or higher.
