Numerous professionally rewarding careers are available in the field of education. Teacher assistants support public or private school teachers in daily classroom activities. They provide assistance in regular classrooms, in special education classrooms and in one-on-one situations with special needs students. Teacher assistants are being employed at all levels of education from early childhood through secondary education.

General Education Requirements (Must include the following): 25 Semester Hours

ENG 101 - Rhetoric
ENG 102 - Rhetoric
COMM 101 - Principles of Communication
SOC 101 - Introduction to Sociology
MATH 123 - Mathematical Structures/Concepts I for Elementary School Teachers
Courses from Groups I-V General Education (Select courses to meet 25 total General Education hours) Math 098 is included in the Group IV: Math/Sciences.

Students are encouraged to select a Humanities or Fine Arts course as part of their General Education coursework.
