Welding Technology, A.A.S.

The Welding Technology degree is designed to prepare the student for the ongoing demand for occupations in the industrial welding sector. Students will have the opportunity to design a course of study to prepare them for occupations in the maintenance, structural, or pipe welding fields. The degree also prepares the student for transfer to a four-year institution as well. There is, and will be a need to replace welders at all levels as the “baby-boomers” retire.

General Education Requirements: 15 Semester Hours

ENG 101 - Rhetoric
or
ENG 130 - Technical Writing and Communication
CIS 126 - Microsoft Office
TMAT 107 - Technical Mathematics I
TMAT 108 - Technical Mathematics II or any higher level math classes equaling at least 6 credit hours.
Group II: Social and Behavioral Sciences - Select one course from the list for a total of 3 credit hours

Major Core Requirements: 33 Semester Hours

Department Electives: 12 Semester hours

Select 12 semester hours from any course listed below, and/or any course in the Technical Department.

Total Required Hours: 60 Semester Hours
