The CDEV Certificate of Achievement prepares individuals for entry-level positions in early childhood settings and aligns with the IL Gateways Early Childhood Credential Level 3. This certificate can be earned as student’s progress towards the CDEV AAS. The student should be aware that the Illinois DCFS requires a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, and a medical clearance including a TB test and proof of immunizations to work in a licensed childcare setting.

CDEV 201 - Health, Safety and Nutrition for Young Children
CDEV 210 - Child, Family & Community
CDEV 215 - Child Study and Observation
CDEV 220 - Instructional Methods in Early Childhood Settings
CDEV 230 - Discipline/Classroom Management
ENG 101 - Rhetoric I
or
ENG 130 - Technical Writing and Communication
PSYC 101 - General Psychology
CDEV 208 - Child Growth and Development
or
PSYC 209 - Child Psychology
CDEV 246 - Methods of Math in ECE
or any MATH course from level 100 or higher, except MATH 098.
