The Meeting and Special Event Planning degree program is designed to prepare students for supervisory and management positions. The program of study combines both practical and theoretical facets of the industry.

General Education Requirements: 15 Semester Hours


Select courses from the following groups:

Group I: Communications  - Must take either ENG 101 or ENG 130. (3 credit hours) Students may substitute ENG 102 or ENG 230 for either of the above courses.

Group II: Social and Behavioral Sciences  - 3 credit hours required in this category

Group III: Humanities and Fine Arts  - No specific minimum credit hours required. This category is optional for AAS degrees. Students are encouraged to select a Humanities or Fine Arts course as part of their General Education coursework.

Group IV: Math/Sciences  - 3 credit hours required in this category

Group V: Career Enhancement  - No specific minimum credit hours required. This category is optional for AAS degrees.

Major Core Electives: 12 Semester Hours


Select 12 hours from any Business or Culinary Department courses, or CIS prefix, or HORT 280, THEA 101, THEA 102, THEA 105.

Note: Courses used for Major Core electives cannot also be counted as general education.

Total Required Hours: 60 Semester Hours
