I. Communication: 9 Credit Hours


II. Social and Behavioral Sciences: 6 Credit Hours


(At least two areas required)

III. Humanities and Fine Arts: 6 Credit Hours


(One course required in Humanities, one course required in Fine Arts.)

Humanities:


IV. Physical/Life Sciences: 7 Credit Hours


(One course from Physical Sciences and one course from Life Sciences with at least one being a lab course. Students may not count both BIO 149 and BIO 151.)

VI. Additional Science and Related Areas: 17 Credit Hours


Must include one course from Mathematics (at least 4 hours) and one course from Science.

VII. Additional Hours Approved for Transfer Degrees: 15 Credit Hours


(See list  of approved courses for the AA/AS degrees.) It is strongly recommended that students complete the appropriate science sequences for their major as required by their transfer school of choice. 

Total Minimum Degree Requirement: 64 Credit Hours


Completion of Categories I-V satisfies the general education requirements for all four-year institutions participating in the Illinois Articulation Initiative.
