Students who will be pursuing the AAS degree in Child Development after completion of the certificate should take ENG 101 not ENG 130. The student should be aware that the State of Illinois requires a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to work in a child care setting.

ENG 130 - Technical Writing and Communication
PSYC 101 - General Psychology
CDEV 208 - Child Growth and Development
or
PSYC 210 - Child and Adolescent Development

Total Required Hours: 30 Semester Hours

Students are encouraged, but not required, to take CDEV 255 - Child Development Internship & Seminar , after completion of the CDEV Certificate of Achievement.
