A study of the era of the Civil War and Reconstruction focusing on the causes and course of the war, the battles over reconstructing the nation and both the short- and long-term effects on the nation. Special emphasis will be given to the impact of events on ordinary Americans Prerequisite(s): HIST 103, HIST 104, HIST 106, or HIST 108 with minimum grade “C”, or consent of department.
