PHSCI 125 - Life in the UniverseCredit Hours 3 Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 IAI GECC Number P9 900 This course covers the nature of life as we know it on Earth, where else in our solar system life could possibly exist, whether life could exist on recently discovered planets that orbit other stars, whether we could live and travel in space. It emphasizes the fundamental principles of physics, astronomy, geology, chemistry and biology. It also covers the philosophical important of scientific discoveries and the impact of the discovery of life beyond Earth. Prerequisite(s): Placement into ENG 101 or minimum grade of “C” in ENG 021 and ENG 099 ; or ENG 022 and ENG 099 ; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089 ; or ENG 096 and placement into MATH 094 or minimum grade “C” in MATH 090 .
