AS 214 - Automatic Transmissions and TransaxlesCredit Hours 3 Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Theory of operation of torque converters, friction elements, planetary gear sets and hydraulics as applied to the construction, diagnosis, service, and overhaul procedures for modern automatic transmissions and transaxles. The lab activities allow the student to become familiar with, and understand, every component in the transmission and how they relate to each other. The theory and operation of advanced electronic transmission control systems is also included with an emphasis on trouble code and data interpretation.
