GEOL 101 - Principles of Physical GeologyCredit Hours 4 Lecture: 3 Lab: 2 IAI GECC Number P1 907L An introduction to the study of Earth’s origin, composition, and structures. Special emphasis is placed on internal and external processes affecting landscape development. Lab topics include mineral and rock identification, topographic map interpretation, earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciers, streams, coastal processes, deserts, and geological time. Prerequisite(s): Placement into ENG 101 or minimum grade of “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089; or ENG 096; and placement into MATH 094 or minimum grade “C” in MATH 090.
