LTA 205 - Information and Internet LiteracyCredit Hours 3 Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 This course is designed to help students master the essential information literacy skills and become effective, efficient learners. Information is available from many sources and in many formats such as printed text, television, videos, library databases, Web sites, and more. To be information literate, a person must be able to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate and use it effectively when needed. Students need to know why, when, and how to use all of these tools and think critically about the information they provide. Keyboarding skills are highly recommended. Prerequisite(s): Placement testing into ENG 101 or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089; or ENG 096.
