SPAN 101 - Elementary Spanish I

This course is an introduction to basic elements of the Spanish language and cultural background of the Spanish-speaking world, offered for those who have had no Spanish or have had one year of high school Spanish. The emphasis is on the development of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in practical and realistic situations meaningful to beginning students. Prerequisite(s): Placement testing into ENG 101 or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099 ;or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089 ; or ENG 096 .
