KOR 110 - Conversational Korean ICredit Hours 3 Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 The major purpose of the SILP Program is the practical use of a new language. The goal for the student is to learn the language by actively participating in class and by completing all of the required assignments. Through tutorial guidance from native speakers, students will increase their competencies as speakers of Korean. There will be a strong emphasis on acquiring conversational skills. This is particularly important in languages that do not use the Western alphabet system, where writing will form a minimal part of the beginning level of study. Cannot be taken as independent study. Prerequisite(s): Placement testing into ENG 101 or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099; or the EAP course sequence ENG 079 and ENG 089; or ENG 096 Notes: Cannot be taken as independent study.
