FSCI 102 - Introduction to Fire PreventionLecture - Lab - Credit Hours: 3-0-3 This course provides fundamental knowledge relating to the field of fire prevention. Topics include: history and philosophy of fire prevention; organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau; use and application of codes and standards; plans review; fire inspections; fire and life safety education; and fire investigation. Prerequisite: Placement into ENG 101; or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099; or the EAP course sequence ENG 078, ENG 079, ENG 088 and ENG 089; or ENG 096; and placement into MATH 098 or higher, or minimum grade “C” in MATH 094.
