HIST 106 - History of Civilization IILecture - Lab - Credit Hours: 3-0-3 IAI Code: H2 902 A survey of Western civilization from about C.E. 1500-present. Emphasis is on the development of modern forms of social, economic, political, and cultural activities. The purpose is to increase the student’s awareness of what it means to be modern and offers explanations of how and why the national communities of the Western world moved toward modernity. The course concludes in the 20th century with the emergence of the world community of national states.
