PHYS 103 - Technical Physics

An introduction to the basic concepts of physics with an emphasis on applications to modern technology. The major topics are mechanics, heat and sound. Designed for students in career education, particularly the technical programs.Prerequisite: COMPASS placement into ENG 101 or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 021 and ENG 099 , or the EAP course sequence ENG 078 and ENG 089 , or ENG 096 ; and COMPASS placement into MATH 094 , or minimum grade “C” in MATH 090 or equivalent. Recommended: TMAT 107 (previously MATH 107) or TMAT 108 (previously MATH 108) .
