Degree Requirements
The Veterinary Medical Technology program is designed for the student who wishes to become a certified veterinary technician. The program combines classroom experience with clinical experience in community veterinary hospital facilities.
A student who completes the program is awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree and is eligible to take the National Examination for Veterinary Technicians for licensure in Illinois.
The Veterinary Medical Technology program at Joliet Junior College is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is approved as a program for educating veterinary technicians.
