The JJC Web Design program provides students with technical aspects of Web page creation, programming, and management involved in creating websites. Students learn state-of-the-art programming languages to create interactive websites with dynamic content. Students high-end Web content and design programming skills will make them more competitive in the Web design market. The immense growth of the World Wide Web has created a need and opportunity for web design majors. Students at JJC will have ample opportunity to explore hands on, the latest technological advances in hardware and software in our multimedia labs. Students from other majors can also take courses in this area to become freelance web site creators.

General Education Requirements: 15 Semester Hours


Select courses from the following groups:

Group I: Communications  - Must take either ENG 101 or ENG 130. (3 credit hours)

Students may substitute ENG 102 or ENG 230 for either of the above courses.

Group II: Social and Behavioral Sciences  - 3 credit hours required in this category

Group III: Humanities and Fine Arts  - No specific minimum credit hours required.  This category is optional for AAS degrees. Students are encouraged to select a Humanities or Fine Arts course as part of their General Education coursework.

Group IV: Math/Sciences  - 3 credit hours required in this category

Group V: Career Enhancement  - No specific minimum credit hours required.  This category is optional for AAS degrees.

Choose one of the two following concentrations: 13 Semester Hours


 Design and Development Concentration (13 Semester Hours)

Social Media Technology Concentration (13 Semester Hours)

Total Required Hours: 68 Semester Hours


Students who are not proficient in basic internet use must take CIS 116
