Any aspiring music student, whether the student wants to be a sound engineer or technician, audio operator, master control operator, sound editor, performer, composer, music teacher, or small music recording business owner, needs to know aspects of music technology to keep up with the advancements taking place every day in the industry.  The Music Technology Certificate will introduce the student to the use of computers in music notation, digital media transfer, and music education.  Some of the programs studied will include Finale and Pro Tools as well as introducing various other software programs used in the music industry.  Through this certificate, students will develop a level of expertise with new applications including contemporary audio recording, midi application and music composition.  This certificate will create a fundamental experience in understanding contemporary music technology and applications, and core musicianship skills.

 

Total Required Hours: 26 Semester Hours


Note: MUS 110: Class Piano and MUS 120: Applied Piano are each 1-credit hour courses.  You may take any combination to equal 2 credit hours.
