The role of graphic designers in today’s world is exciting and growing in demand.  Graphic designers power many industries including signage, publication design, web design, internet publication design, to name a few.  Graduates of the Graphic Design degree or certificate programs find work in advertising agencies, design studios, sign companies, department store corporate offices, in-house corporate design departments, public relation departments or as free lancers, handling a variety of creative projects and campaigns.  The employment outlook for graphic designers is very strong.  The graphic design program involves the creation and production of promotional materials and the selection and arrangement of text and graphic elements within a page format to communicate a message.  Studio projects enable students to develop a portfolio suitable for admission to a baccalaureate program or employment.  The program serves students wishing to transfer to a four-year program, persons seeking to make career changes, professionals who are upgrading or adding to their job skills, and those who seek personal enrichment by developing their artistic talents.
