A course in Shielded Metal Arc Welding in the vertical and overhead positions which emphasizes safety, fundamentals of the processes, equipment, and techniques involved with welding mild steel. AWS welder qualification is offered in the 3G, and 4G positions on mild steel with backing strip. Prerequisite(s): WLDG 110 with a minimum grade of “C”.
