LENF 230 - Research in Criminal Justice and Policing

Introduction to quantitative research methods and includes exploring relationship of theory to empirical evidence and logic underlying methods of inquiry and ethics in conducting empirical research. 

This course will include the fundamental techniques and procedures, research ethics, and methods of data collection and data analysis in criminal justice, criminological and policing research, with emphasis on quantitative analysis. Prerequisite(s): Placement testing into ENG 021  and ENG 099 ; ENG 022  and ENG 099 ,or the EAP course sequence ENG 078  and ENG 088 ; or ENG 096 ;or minimum grade “C” in one of the following: ENG 020  and ENG 098 ; or the EAP course sequence ENG 077  and ENG 087 .
