CTOP 180 - Advanced Equipment TrainingLecture - Lab - Credit Hours: 1-4-3 This course is designed to provide an organized program for apprentice operators to practice and develop the skills preformed by a third-year apprentice. As operating skills increase in proficiency, each student will demonstrate equipment skills on a mobile, truck mount, rough terrain, all terrain, carry deck, friction, hydraulic and tower cranes. Material covered includes: hoisting safety procedures, specific crane maintenance techniques, interpretations of OSHA standards, concrete pumps, explicated industry terminology and related materials and associated equipment used in these industries. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.Prerequisite: CTOP 175 or member of Operating Engineers 210 and acceptance into the Operators Apprenticeship program or consent of department.
