This certificate allows students the opportunity to complete coursework recognized by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS).
The United States Department of Defense has certified the Cisco CCNA Security, Cisco CCNP Security, and Cisco Cybersecurity Specialist (SCYBER) Certifications as DoD 8570.01-M compliant.
The certificate helps prepare students for the vital needs of the global workforce for network security. Courses are offered as part of the Cisco Networking Academy a world leader in cybersecurity.
Certification earned through this program are recognized world-wide. The certificate is also part of the Information Technology A.A.S. degree and allows students to earn Associates credit hours while completing the coursework.

Major Core Requirements: 9 credit hours
This certificate is intended to demonstrate training received for a foundational level of security. Courses in this certificate align with training standards set at the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) level which address the nation’s critical needs of network security personal. This certificate is also the first half of a comprehensive training program focused on network security. The courses comprise training that is recognized by both the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) meeting CNSS 4011 training standard. In addition, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) has certified our security course, as DoD 8570.01-M compliant. The certificate demonstrates an individual received training for exacting security standards. Total Required Hours: 9 Semester Hours
