The course evaluates the complex environment in which transportation services are provided and discusses how to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing industry. Specific topics include: overview of transportation, supply chain, the economy, traditional modes of transportation, special carriers, global transportation, economic and operating characteristics of each mode, costing, pricing, carrier strategy, and information management.
