VTA 102 - Veterinary Nursing & Surgical AssistingCredit Hours 4 Lecture: 4 Lab: 0 This course introduces students to veterinary medicine with a focus on small animals, exotics species, and large animals. The topics taught include preventive medicine, pharmacology, surgical assisting, dental health, laboratory assisting, diagnostic imaging, and critical care including wound management/bandaging & emergency medicine. There will be hands-on animal labs where students will perform administering medications of various routes on canines and felines and tours to the Veterinary Technology Program at JJC. Prerequisite(s): VET 100 taken prior to or concurrently.
